About Ballacottier Campsite

Ballacottier Campsite is a campground on the Isle of Man, positioned to make the most of the island's walking routes and historical sites. The site has showers on hand, and pitches are available for campers looking for a base to explore the area.

The Braaid, an ancient settlement with remains spanning from the Iron Age onwards, is just up the road and worth the short walk. The coastal paths that ring much of the Isle of Man are within reach, offering walking that varies from gentle coastal strolls to more demanding hikes with island views. Ramsey, the island's second town, is a short drive away and has shops, pubs and a promenade if you want to venture beyond the campsite for an evening out or supplies.

Despite the previous comment, I would like to write about our stay here: We did a one year long journey in 2022 and, even though this campsite may need renovation, the owners will have a place in our hearts forever. Their outstanding hospitality (they sent us a postcard at the end of the year) was one of the most precious encounters on our trip. We felt welcomed and appreciated. For them an honest conversation and having "open doors" for travellers is more important than anything. And, how heartwarming that a 90 year old man still works on his campsite? What a sad thought that those who cannot afford holding up to today's standards, would have to close? ♡ all the best to you, Robin and Sarah (Juli/August '22)

Awesome! showers, super friendly hosts, plenty of room, quiet easy access when the races are on. Also an easy ride or pedal bike to one the best viewing areas! Kitchen area for those who don't have cooking facilities
