About Camp Wight

The eco-credentials are robust—solar-powered hot showers, spotless composting toilets, and a commitment to treading lightly on the landscape. You can pitch your own tent, sling a hammock, or opt for a ready-pitched bell tent or geodesic dome if you fancy a bit more comfort.

Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the island's wildlife, and campfires are encouraged, adding to the back-to-basics appeal. Great site with lots of places scattered throughout the woods, some open field spots and domes to hire. I'm here in a camper with a big awning out, lots of privacy and very chill. The owner is lovely, easy going and very helpful. I love the solar showers and compositing toilets, very green. Couldn't ask for much more tbh!

We loved the location and large pitches for tents. We do feel that the sanitary facilities are very basic and not female friendly: shower doors do not close, no shelfs in showers to put your stuff on, no washing tables with mirrors, etc. So this beautiful camping needs some more female perspective:)

Stayed the first weekend in February, during one of the wettest weeks of the year so far, but that wasnt going to dampen our spirits. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Tom, who showed us around the wonderful but very wet site. After a chat with Tom and considering our options we decided to upgrade to one of the Pods for the weekend. The site itself is absolutely brilliant with little individual clearings amongst the trees giving you a sense of wild camping but with all the security of a campsite. Ideal for solo, group and family camping. There are some great views of the downs on clear days, and plenty to do on the island close by. The pod that we used was unfurnished but that was perfect for us as we were going we are wild campers and had everything that we needed, with the added extra of a log burner which was great. I would highly recommend Camp Wight and will definitely visit again in future.

We loved our stay. Even though it is mid winter and glamping this time of year might be frowned upon, we've had a cosy spacious night with a great view and beautiful stars. Will recommend it any time!
