Sandown sits on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, where a network of rural footpaths and cycle routes connect the coastal town to the island's interior. Queen Bower Farm Lodge occupies a working farm in this setting, surrounded by open countryside with direct access onto the walking paths that crisscross the area. The National Trust's Borthwood Copse lies opposite the property, and Alverstone Nature Reserve is within easy reach—both draw walkers and wildlife watchers throughout the year.
The lodge is a single-storey property that sleeps five: two double bedrooms and a second bathroom beyond the ensuite. The living space includes a kitchen with electric cooking, where you can prepare meals, and a combined living and dining room with Freeview Smart TV. An enclosed garden with barbecue and seating overlooks the surrounding fields. Two cars can park on the property, and there is secure storage for bicycles. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided; a travel cot is available by request. The property is non-smoking, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Check-in is after 3pm, with checkout by 10am.
The surrounding countryside suits families wanting to explore on foot or bike, and those interested in the reserve's dragonflies, kingfishers and barn owls. Borthwood Copse offers woodland walking among mature oaks and beeches, with a possibility of spotting red squirrels. A picnic area across the adjacent field provides views towards Culver Cliffs.

This is our 3rd year returning to the Lodge and it’s like we have never been away. Yasmin and Sean make you feel welcome from the moment you start the booking process right up until you leave and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble. The lodge has everything you need, is comfortable and homely and its location is perfect for getting out and about on the Island. We will definitely be back next year!

Queen Bower Lodge is our happy place on the IOW. We have been returning for five years & hope for many more visits. The hosts Yasmin & Sean are so friendly & welcoming. The lodge is very well equipped with everything you could need for a home from home stay. Comfy beds, nice towels & lovely little touches such as a welcome basket & fresh eggs from the farm. Always spotlessly clean on arrival. Peaceful location with fantastic views & lots of farm animals to see as well. Our dog Henry loves coming to stay too!
