Pondside Lodge

Alverstone sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ringed by farmland and marshland with the village ponds nearby. Pondside Lodge occupies this quiet setting, where footpaths lead directly from the property through woodland where red squirrels, woodpeckers and kingfishers are regularly spotted. The Isle of Wight's main cycle route passes close by, running through countryside from Sandown towards Cowes. Sandown's sandy beach and pier lie three miles away; Shanklin with its chine is a short drive further, and Ventnor's botanic gardens and Cowes's maritime attractions are also within reach.

The lodge is a single-storey, self-contained property with a double bedroom, shower room and open-plan living space. A woodburner, smart TV, fully equipped kitchen with electric cooking, and heating are all included. Bed linen, towels and wifi come as standard. One car can park on site. The property sleeps two adults only, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Non-smokers only.

This suits couples, solo travellers or friends looking for a base to walk local paths, cycle the island's network, or reach the coast within minutes. After exploring, there is somewhere genuinely quiet to return to.
