What visitors say
This was our final stop on our road trip in the campervan. A lovely big site with plenty of pitches for campervans and motorhomes both with or without electric hookup. There are three facilities blocks on site and depending on which one you go to, will depend on what is there. We were in between two of the blocks both of which had the same facilities but one had a laundry room as well. There is a pub next doors which also does food (we had dinner here on our first night) and is dog friendly. For such a large site it was quite quiet which was nice. There is a barrier at the entrance which requires a code to get in and out and all traffic follows a one way system. We would happily stay here again next time we are down that way. Happy to recommend this site.

Lovely camp site great facilities. Busy areas and quiet areas. Pitches are generally quite big and we’ve always had a level pitch. Stayed a few times. Staff great. It is out of the way and if you do not have access to a car will need to walk a few mile to public transport of use taxi’s. There is a bar on site can get busy, meals are alway nice. Small village of Stavely 20-30 min walk away via tracks. Trains and bus to Kendal Windermere and beyond.

The Camping and Caravan club do a great job of keeping the grounds and facilities in great shape. We took our tentbox and we cannot complain about the site the only niggle we had was the ground on the grass pitch was very rocky and hard to pitch the awning pegs into. The only other downside is to catch the stage coach bus we had to walk along a very busyroad and dual carriageway. So if you use this site there are walks you can do but a few of them have to cross the busy road. If your using your vehicle its not an issue but if like us you want to walk or bus hop then please think about this before booking. We had a great few days and this was our second stay at this camp site. A big thumbs up from us.
