The 5 stars goes to Andrea, the restaurant manager! She has such a kind and approachable manner and always first to offer help! Nothing is ever too much for her to do. She is an asset to the hotel and really made our stay comfortable and enjoyable! And generally the staff have been great, from the cleaners to the receptionists.

Sand Bay is a “Holiday Village” which means it is NOT a 5* hotel. Your room is a chalet and does not have staff tidying and cleaning every day. It is done on the day of your arrival and when you leave. Meals are self service and of limited choice changing each day so don’t expect “haute cuisine”. The main draw to Sand Bay is that it has entertainment every day in the afternoon and evening, is adult only and the age group tends to be older and retired. Evening acts range from the Blue Coats doing their bit to tribute acts, comedians, etc. Also a terrific resident duo called Eclipse for music to dance to. All is included in the price of your stay. My wife and I have had about 7/8 breaks at Sand Bay since our 1st just after Covid and think it is terrific value for money. If you don’t want to hang around Sand Bay all day and you can still drive then among places to visit are Wells which has an amazing cathedral and bishops palace, Chedder which is on your way Wells as also worth a visit, Glastonbury which is full of New age shops and Bath which is beautiful.

I was put in the far corner of the park and the room was basic. The door lock looked to be dodgy, and very easy to break. There were no hangers in the wardrobe. There was full WiFi in the room which was great. The park was lovely, with a nice pool, sauna and jacuzzi. the main entertainment area was spacious and the staff was helpful. The food was basic, but plentiful.

the rooms were filthy. We didn't even have matching curtains! If we had been there for a holiday rather than a scooter rally we would have left straight away. Please see photos below. Food was nowhere near the quality of past visits and the queues were ridiculous. If visited by Health and Hygiene. Queue for bar also ridiculous. A normal size bar with 4 bar staff serving hundreds of people. The only positive is the location.
