Stayed here for 2 nights on my own with my dog and absolutely loved it. The adults-only field was peaceful and quiet. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, and the shower and toilet facilities were spotless with great hot water. My only suggestion would be a few more hooks in the showers for towels and clothes. I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful location with plenty to explore. The new managers are very friendly and accommodating. The facilities need a little TLC, and could do with engaged and vacant signs on the doors but everything works ok and they're relatively clean dependant on guests managing to use some manners. My only concern was the un checked use of electric bikes and scooters being used at speed by children all around the campsite even where toddlers were playing.

Absolutely perfect site. Plenty room, brilliant views. Lovely canal walk in to Uppermill. Nearby pubs with food😋 Run by two lovely women with great knowledge of the area for walks and visits. Deffo on our return list👍✊🔥

Our recent group excursion to the campsite near Uppermill was a study in contrasts—a true "choose your own adventure" experience where the scenery was five-star, but the hospitality felt like it was auditioning for a role in a Victorian melodrama. The location itself is an absolute gem, offering seamless access to the charming locales of Uppermill, Mossley, and Stalybridge via some truly spectacular walking routes that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. The facilities were, for the most part, a triumph of modern convenience, featuring well-maintained showers, toilets, and a washroom that would satisfy even the most discerning camper. However, our experience took a turn for the theatrical when we discovered that two of the four showers had decided to join a "cold water only" protest, and the toilet paper was being rationed with the kind of strict oversight usually reserved for national gold reserves. While we appreciate the importance of resource management, we found ourselves wondering if we were camping or participating in a survivalist experiment. To top it all off, the management’s communication style was, shall we say, "uniquely spirited." Their approach to customer service was so remarkably blunt that it left us wondering if they were secretly training for a career in professional grumpiness. A little more warmth in their demeanor would have gone a long way—perhaps as much as the hot water we were missing!
