Built in late 2023, The Studio at Cross House is a compact single-storey property designed around an open-plan living space. Everything you need sits on the ground floor: a kitchen area with a two-ring hob and combined microwave-oven, dining corner, lounge with a wall-mounted smart TV, a double bedroom, and a shower room with heated towel rail. Storage has been thought through to keep clutter at bay in this carefully proportioned layout.
A back patio with garden furniture looks out over an enclosed garden—useful for morning coffee or simply sitting outside. You get your own parking space on site. Essentials like electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included, and one well-behaved pet can stay free. The property is no-smoking throughout. Arrive from 4pm, depart by 10am.
Near Toll Bar Garage in Lancaster, this works well for a couple wanting a self-contained base, whether for a few days or longer. The town centre and surrounding countryside are within easy reach.

My daughter sew with Chris. She initially went to a one off to work out something about her sewing machine as a first time user and ended up staying for sessions. She is an amazing seamstress and happy to share that knowledge.

Chris is a wonderful, talented, caring sewing teacher who over the past two years has become my weekly mentor in sewing and life. I look forward to my class all week, I’ve learnt so much and she’s guided me through complicated projects I could simply never have attempted on my own. There is also a great social aspect with Chris’ classes and getting to know the other women in the classes is an absolute joy week to week. This class is like therapy and I cannot wait for the next one, it feels like a family. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Christine who runs the studio is Super, super helpful. Has a wealth of knowledge on anything to do with textiles whether it’s guiding you through a dressmaking project, upholstery or making your own curtains or blinds. I love it and met some great like minded people too. Highly recommended

I’ve learnt loads from Chris. The classes are relaxed and friendly. I would recommend to people just learning and more experienced sewers who want to up their game. I made the stole with Chris’s help and guidance.
