About Snooty Fox
Kirkby Lonsdale is a good base for walking and cycling routes into the wider Cumbrian countryside, with the Lake District within reach for a day out, and the Snooty Fox sits right in the middle of it on Main Street, close to other pubs, restaurants and entertainment in the town itself. It suits guests who want to explore by day and come back to somewhere unpretentious in the evening.
The hotel has eight rooms, each en-suite, with free WiFi and drinks available in room, and accessible rooms for those who need them. Breakfast is included, and downstairs there's a proper pub atmosphere with a bar, restaurant and outdoor seating in the garden. The kitchen turns out generous, reasonably priced food, from Sunday roasts to dishes such as Hunters Chicken, with a decent range of choices and kids' meals on offer for families. Staff are friendly and the place has a cosy, welcoming feel, though service can be slow at busier times.
Pets are welcome, and golf courses, cycling routes and walking trails are all nearby, making this an easy spot to combine outdoor days with evenings by the bar. Note that there's no parking available on site, so plan accordingly if arriving by car.

Great pub. Great service. Had the snooty burger which was great and fantastic value for money! £14.95....the only thing I would suggest is putting one great quality burger on instead of two good ones. Other than that, can't knock it.

One of the best pub rooms we have ever stayed in! Last-minute booking to avoid exhorbitant accommodation costs in Kendal. Handy for there, free overnight parking on street outside was available, staff welcoming, room lovely, in-room continental breakfast generous & perfect. Nice bath to soak in too after a hard day's walking. Booths supermarket nearby for provisions for next day. Warning: it's an old, characterful building, so beware that low beams do wait to catch you out when your attention is diverted!

Stayed one night here and we weren't disappointed. Didn't read the earlier reviews first or may not have booked it. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. I had Chermoula Chicken and my husband had the gammon. Live music finished at 10.30, a little early I thought, but possibly not to disturb residents. Our room was clean and comfortable but if I'm being picky possibly a little basic. Breakfast service was good and the food was hot but I was disappointed to be served streaky bacon. Excellent location, great staff and would recommend.

We chanced upon this place in Kirby Lonsdale and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The Hunters Chicken was the nicest I have ever had and my husband really enjoyed the Trio of Sausage with Mash. The portions were generous and well presented. If in the area I would definitely recommend.
