About Birchwood Camping
Birchwood Camping spreads across 6.5 acres of wildflower meadows just outside Leominster, offering genuinely peaceful, back-to-basics camping where you can hear little beyond birdsong and crackling campfires. Each generous pitch comes with its own fire pit, and there's a well-equipped communal kitchen if you fancy cooking under cover. The shower block is spotlessly maintained with plenty of hot water, and the owners are warm, helpful hosts who clearly care about the place.
It's open year-round but doesn't accept pets, and there's no Wi-Fi or motorhome waste disposal—this is camping stripped back to the essentials. Perfect if you want space to stargaze, unwind, and use Herefordshire's market towns and hills as your backdrop without unnecessary frills.

What visitors say
We loved our stay at Birchwood Camping. The wild meadows and woodland area are lovely, with a little stream to paddle. The common areas are spotlessly clean, with fridge, toaster, kettle and hot showers. One bell tent with lots of space for people with their own tents. Owners were really welcoming with jam, honey and logs for sale. Nicest spot we’ve been too for a long time.

Fantastic campsite - beautiful field and woodland camping pitches. Great for star gazing at night and very quiet - lovely dawn chorus from all the birds! Little stream in the woods is perfect for paddling and exploring with kids. It's ran by a lovely couple - really welcoming and informative. Lovely communal kitchen set up with fridge, freezer, kettle and toaster. Very kid friendly with small climbing frame, badminton net, footballs and games. Incredibly clean toilets and hot showers. We can't wait to come back again!

Just returned from an amazing peaceful trip to Birchwood Camping. Lots of space between pitches, immaculately clean site with grass cut pitches and walkways. We heard various night time animals and lots of birdlife. The kids expecially loved the red kites and the buzzards. There is a stream down the lower end with a few places to get down Into it. There is a small kitchen for washing up, where we bought some homemade honey and jam. If you are after a peaceful camping experience this is the place to visit. We were fortunate to have the whole site to ourselves on the last night and as experienced campers, we have never managed this in all our time camping. We will definitely be returning, thanks to the friendly hosts

I’ve been camping a lot, and this is the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at! The location is perfect, peacefully quiet yet close to many lovely historic market towns. The facilities were amazing, especially the shower shack in the quarry. Melvyn and Alison were wonderful hosts and have made this place truly special. Will be recommending and revisiting ☺️
