About Kingfisher Trout Lake Camping

Tucked into rural Herefordshire just five minutes from Bromyard, this tiny family-run site revolves around a gorgeously landscaped trout lake that's home to kingfishers, ducks and dragonflies. Fly-fishing enthusiasts will be in their element, and novices can book time with an on-site tutor to learn the basics of casting. Dogs are welcome (on leads near the water) and well-behaved pups can even join you in the on-site café, which serves excellent full English breakfasts, light lunches and homemade cakes until 3pm daily.

Facilities are refreshingly simple: spacious accessible toilets, ice-pack freezing, chemical disposal and recycling, plus parking at your non-electric grass pitch. The peaceful setting and spectacular views more than compensate. For a more sophisticated dining experience, Ludlow's cluster of Michelin-starred restaurants and gastropubs sits half an hour's drive away in Shropshire.

What visitors say

I have been coming here for more years than i can remember. The fishing is the highlite.Lots of fish rising all over the lake and taking lures, buzzers and floating flies. Not all that heavy, average 2+lbs. The cafe is a bonus serving hot food, breakfasts and more.hot and cold drinks and comfortable seating.Ample car parking all on the flat.Clean toilet.Well worth a visit if not to fish then for the food.

A beautiful well run reasonably priced fishery with a nice cafe . Ideal for the older angler as fishing is easily accessible . Christine is the best host and nothing is too much trouble. Trout don't surrender easily but that makes it all the more interesting. You won't be disappointed.

Bit different here we didn't stop to fish but had a night up on the hill in our campervan. Great views and a friendly bunch keep this place working. It's basic and it doesn't have much but its cheap, secure and a great little stop over. Water fill up and water disposal. Drop in the cafe for a quick bite to eat or a coffee. Well done team

A beautiful trout lake and campsite situated just outside the small town of Bromyard. Small, quiet, and utterly tranquil. Reasonable prices for trout fishers with solid firm platforms and room to back cast if one is careful. A small cafe serves hot and cold drinks and food and is used by locals frequently as well as those fishing. Tables overlook the lake and provided shaded areas under a gorgeous oak tree where if you just feel like a brew and a chat or just a place to ponder life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as an escape from the recent brutal heat. On my last visit I did both, reconnecting with nature and left feeling reinvigorated. Loved it.
