About Sheil Suites

Sheil Suites suits visitors after a straightforward, low-cost stay rather than a polished hotel experience. Set in a converted Victorian house on Sheil Road, it has just 12 rooms and a homely, unfussy feel, making it a fit for those who don't mind sharing a few communal spaces in exchange for a lower price and a friendly, informal atmosphere.

Guests get free Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the rooms, with use of communal kitchens and a garden shared with other residents. Reception is staffed around the clock, and free on-site parking is available, which is a genuine plus for anyone arriving by car in the city. There's no restaurant on site, but pubs, bars and eateries can be found nearby, along with other entertainment options.

The location on Sheil Road gives reasonable access to Liverpool's attractions, including Albert Dock and the Beatles Story, without the price tag of a central hotel. It's best suited to travellers prioritising value and practicality over polish.

We stayed there for about a week, it looked closer to town in the map then it felt but not too bad. Also right on the main routes. Buses and cabs are ready to catch. We booked it without speaking to my family (from Liverpool) and they were sus of the location (apparently not a great area), but we didn't experience any issues like that, day and night were quite literally day and night. During the day it felt like any other urban neighborhood but at night there was more traffic and see the bizzies with their lights goin more frequent than other places normally. No action just lights. Place was clean and a good size

This place deserves a much better rating. Great location, spacious and clean room, and bathroom. Digital nomads can appreciate a speedy Wi-Fi. Check-in made in other hotel is nothing disturbing, and it is especially communicated by the staff ahead of the stay. I'll come back!

Would not recommend due to very poor service. Nowhere during the booking process or on the confirmation email is it mentioned that check in is not actually at the Sheil Suites building, but at a different hotel 15/20 minutes walk away. We had to ring the main reception to find this out, and were then given an incorrect address and not the name of the hotel leading us to go to an unrelated residential property first. There are no keys for the building or rooms, just combination locks which we were given codes for at the other hotel. This combined with a lack of deadbolts or another way to lock the rooms from the inside made the stay feel unsafe. On the confirmation email it is stated that 20% of the booking cost will be taken on the day of booking, and the remaining amount will be taken 7 days prior to arrival. This was not the case and we were actually charged the full amount on check in - the staff had no way to verify if any payment had already been taken and we were told we would need to contact them afterwards if we had been overcharged. When we finally got into the room, it had been made up as a twin when we had requested a double, and no towels had been provided apart from two hand towels. The shower was cold and both the shower and bathroom doors did not close properly.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The price was too expensive when I booked. First of all I was not informed about the codes you need to enter your room since there is no reception. You'll need to go to Beech Mount Hotel to recieve your codes to your room. When at Sheil Suites the WiFi didn't work at all. Even though i called the reception to make them aware of the situation. The room overall was not so nice. The couch were full of spots and there was more broken than working lights. The floor didn't make any good impression. Toilet was ok. The appartment is located next to a pretty noisy road.
