Tucked into 10 acres of Carmarthenshire countryside with views across to Dinefwr Castle, Ravenscroft Retreats offers genuinely secluded glamping for grown-ups. Each shepherd's hut comes with Egyptian cotton bedding, its own herb garden, and a private pitch complete with fire pit, hammock and benches – perfect for an evening under the stars. The real luxury touch? Every unit has its own hot tub. Deer, foxes, red kites and badgers are regular visitors to these peaceful grounds, and guests are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and woodland.
Location is a strong suit here. A public footpath leads half a mile uphill to National Trust-managed Dinefwr Castle and Newton House, while Llandeilo's independent shops, galleries and restaurants are just a 15-minute walk beyond that. Llansteffan Beach is 40 minutes by car, and the edge of the Brecon Beacons lies 20 minutes' drive away. Note that it's strictly adults-only (though family group bookings are considered), and there's no pet access or WiFi – which rather suits the back-to-nature vibe.

We had an amazing stay at this glamping pod and couldn’t recommend it more highly. Simon was a fantastic host – very polite, welcoming and incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. He gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and things to do locally, which really made our trip even better. The pod itself was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The log-fire powered hot tub was an absolute highlight – such a lovely, relaxing experience and something a bit different from the usual electric tubs. Simon also kindly let us have a later check-out, which we really appreciated and was a perfect end to a brilliant stay

Literally not a bad word to say, the hosts provide everything you’ll ever need including plenty of fire wood! Location is very peaceful and the accommodation is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere cozy! Would 100% recommend and we will certainly be returning.

A wonderful short break in one of the cabins. We had a warm welcome, with the hot tub fire laid and tea coffee and Welsh cakes ready for us. The cabin was immaculate, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the quiet location, surrounded by greenery and the best wood fired hot tub. Lots to do in the area and enjoyed some great pub meals. Highly recommend.
