We went to Gellidywyll, to visit friends that have a holiday home there. The site was spacious and very well maintained, and the vans were spaced well apart, and not crammed together,as in a lot of other parks, and the setting was just beautiful, with ponds, benches, a laundry room and wonderful views. Would definitely recommend.

This cottage was absolutely gorgeous. It was incredibly spacious, very clean, and came with most of what you would need. My partner and I stayed here for a week and the local area was beautiful. Newtown feels bustling at peak times, the scenery is beautiful, and there are trains from Caersws to Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth. We had days out to both of these places and had a wonderful time. There are loads of farm shops and local produce to be bought locally too. The site was wonderful, with a pretty pond, sheep wandering around, and gorgeous hills - with zero light pollution on clear jights for stargazing. There's a lovely jam store at the house opposite the park which sells homemade jams for very cheap prices too. The cottage felt extremely homely and was incredibly easy to get comfy in. The kitchen appliances were easy to use and worked well - although the oven is definitely a bit weaker than our one at home, so just be mindful of having to cook things in it slightly longer than you'd expect. We managed to make planty of meals in the cottage, including seafood pasta, pizza, korean lamb stew, potato dauphinoise, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, and we even had a sushi night! The games room was so much, we enjoyed the pool table a lot, but remember it costs 50p to play a round. The cottage also came with a puzzle and a couple of board games - we enjoyed the Scrabble a couple times. Also do take time to read the books at the cottage which tell you about the history of the local area. The only thing I would say was missing was a few bits and bobs, I think some kitchen roll and scourers would have been helpful, and maybe some cling film for storing leftover food. Also a hand towel in the bathroom. The toilet roll being stored at the back of a kitchen cabinet wasn't expected - we bought toilet paper thinking there was none in the home until a few days before leaving. A few of the kitchen appliances were also on the verge of breaking/did break - the tongs were already broken when we got there, and the sauce pan handle is very loose. The knives are very blunt too. This was my first ever holiday without my parents and it was so lovely to gain some independence and stay in such a lovely space for a little while. It was relaxing, exciting, new, and so cool to see Wales. We will definitely return one day, but first we want to explore the rest of Wales. Thank you Karen for providing us with Welsh Cakes (which I am now obsessed with), tea, coffee, sugar, salt, and pepper. As well as milk and butter. Don't make the mistake we did and buy all these things before coming to the cottage. My highlight of the holiday was the cliff railway in Aberystwyth - its an hour drive or train from Caersws station, and I couldn't recommend it more.
