About Travelodge London Lewisham

Lewisham is a well-connected corner of south-east London, with its DLR and train station giving quick access to Greenwich and into the centre of the city, and Travelodge London Lewisham sits right on the high street in the thick of it. The hotel has 227 rooms spread across five floors, with lifts for easy access, family and accessible rooms available, and en-suite bathrooms throughout. Beds are comfortable and rooms are generally kept clean and spacious, with air conditioning to keep things comfortable, though standards can occasionally slip and some guests have found staff less helpful than others.

A bar and snack bar are on site, alongside a breakfast service that guests rate as good value, and drinks can be ordered to your room. Pets are welcome, and there's a 24 hour reception for whenever you arrive. Beyond the hotel, Lewisham High Street has a pub, restaurants and a KFC close by, plus entertainment options and a golf course nearby.

Parking isn't included at the hotel itself, but chargeable parking is available a minute's walk away at Slaithwaite Road Car Park, and an electric vehicle charge point is on site for those who need it.

To be honest I was a bit concerned that I had booked a hotel in Lewisham when we were visiting family in Blackheath. I found all the staff genuinely friendly and helpful and it was a pleasant walk to Blackheath and the bus back in the evening stopped almost outside the front door. We had the breakfast on day 2 for convenience, as we would not normally have an all you can eat breakfast. It was great value and decent quality for the price.

It's the cleanest and neatest travelodge I've ever stayed in. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The dining area is always clean and tidy and the rooms are always clean and tidy. In the heatwave the air conditioning was a life saver and meant I was able to sleep sound. It's centrally located and only 10 to 15 minutes walk from the train station and DLR, and 5 minutes from Lewisham town shopping centre. All in all, I've always enjoyed my stay here.

Spent Christmas here, closer to family. We checked in about midnight. Went up to room only to discover the window had been left open. Turned on the heating thinking this would quickly resolve the issue. After 10 minutes, I realized their was a problem! Went to bed that night in tracksuit. Next morning, informed reception staff that there was a problem with the heating, the room was freezing! The lovely lady informed me that they controlled the heating from the back office! Who'd have known? Anyway, she also informed me there was a fault code showing on the control panel for that room! She then offered us another room next level, after paying the extra charge of picking my room when booking online! So with no help whatsoever, we made several trips up and down whith our luggage, just waht you don't need Christmas day! We've stayed here before, the location is ideal fro us. However, we had a problem with the catering staff, one woman in particular, whom I wrote about in my last review! The lady asked a few times, 'have you paid for the breakfast... you have to pay!' She watched us like a hawk, everytime pacing up and down side eyeing us! Even after paying, she asked if we'd paid! This time, she observed from a distance, didn't say a word, just stared every now and then! Terrible service all round this time. Maybe we'll try Premier Inn next time. Lewisham, like every other borough in London has it's share of problems. However, we don't expect to be treated like shop lifters over breakfast. Common courtesy goes a long way! The reception staff were not helpful at all! Although the penguins enjoyed the first night, slightly warmer than the Artic apparently! Enjoy your stay people, I'm sure it's a one off!xx

Every member of staff was a pleasure to speak with. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone of them had a smile and a welcoming attitude. Room was ok, clean enough and bed was comfortable enough. Evening meals were limited as they regularly didn't have what was on the menu sadly. However, what we really didn't like was outside the hotel. Whenever we stepped out we were asked by locals for cigarettes or money. Lewisham council also needs to keep an eye on the street cleaning. Would happily stay again if they moved the hotel to a better area. On a more serious note though, all of the staff should be commended for their work ethic and lovely, professional attitude to all.
