What visitors say
Absolutely the most beautiful place and a completely authentic sheep farm experience! The views across The Wolds are stunning. Alice is a brilliant host and the glamping areas are really quite luxurious!

Acklam Farms Stays offers various types of accommodation. I pitched my tent at the top of the "wild camping" field and had a wonderfully rejeuvenating mini-break. There was something special about being able to sit on the grass and look out over such an expansive view. It was easy to forget my to-do lists and really benefit from being here. You can see across many miles of fields and woodlands, and because the hills of the Dales and Moors are far in the distance, you also see a lot of sky. You can watch the sun set and then you look down on twinkling lights, with the stars above. It's a huge field so I can't imagine it ever feeling busy. For my stay, it was just me and some ewes with lambs. I would really recommend the site for anyone who is happy with just basic, clean facilities (compost toilet + tap). The view is truly exceptional so come on a clear day when it's not too windy.

We camped at Acklam for 5 nights in the paddock near the glamping units and I highly recommend it. The view is fantastic. In one direction we could see the North Yorkshire Moors and in the other we could see further than York. The facilities are clean and functional and the owner is super friendly. We hope to return one day.

What a place! Booked it after searching on the web, communication with the owner was excellent, really friendly and accommodating. Camped in the paddock with breath taking views. I have put a 5 stars for the rooms as although we did not stay in one of the glamping huts, we were shown around them and they looked awesome, will definitely be looking at staying in one of those next time.
