Sumner Lodge

Malvern Hills

View on Google Maps

Tenbury Wells and Bromyard are both within easy reach, each offering independent shops, cafés, and leisure facilities including a cinema and theatre. The Teme Valley itself rewards exploration on foot or by car, with the surrounding countryside of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire opening up walks and drives through open farmland and woodland. Sumner Lodge sits on the edge of this landscape, positioned as a base for getting out rather than a destination in itself.

The property is a single-storey detached lodge accessed via an uneven track. Ground-floor living means no stairs: an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with views across fields and woods; a king-size bedroom; a second bedroom with two single beds; and a bathroom with both bath and walk-in shower. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, and there's a separate utility room with a washing machine. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. Outside, sitting areas overlook the rural surroundings, and you have parking for two cars on site.

The lodge suits couples or groups of friends rather than families with children. It's a no-smoking property. The setting is genuinely quiet and remote, which is its appeal—but that also means the access track is rough and uneven, and there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance.

Just returned from a superb week's holiday at Sumner lodge. This has to be the best equipped holiday lodge I have ever stayed in! It was spotless and very clean on arrival too. The surroundings are wonderful; very peaceful and gorgeous views of the countryside everywhere. It is a very central location and you are never far from any of the surrounding towns such as Tenbury, Bromyard, Leominster, Ludlow and Malvern. A big "thank you" must go to the owner Hazel who is so welcoming and friendly. She gave us all a holiday we'll never forget. Thoroughly recommended and we will be back very soon. "5 Stars" from us!
