About REM Hotel
Travellers after a sociable stay in the middle of Manchester rather than a polished boutique experience will get on well with REM Hotel. Found on Sackville Street, it puts guests within easy reach of the city's bars, restaurants and entertainment, making it a practical choice for weekends built around going out rather than staying in.
Rooms are en-suite with drinks available to order, and the hotel runs a 24 hour reception, free WiFi and luggage storage for guests coming and going at odd hours. The bar downstairs, complete with outdoor seating, is a genuine draw, popular as a spot for an afternoon drink and known for a friendly, easy-going atmosphere. It's worth noting that some rooms show their wear, so this suits guests prioritising location and atmosphere over immaculate finishes.
Pets are welcome, and beyond the hotel itself there's a golf course nearby along with a good spread of pubs and eateries within walking distance. It works well as a base for exploring central Manchester on foot, particularly for those keen to make the most of the city's evening options.

What guests say
The only good thing about this place is if you're one of the drunks partying until 5am. The photos don't match the rooms at all; no head board, no pillows (only 2 small pillows) no cleanliness (no wallpaper, dirty carpet, damaged windows), and no wall hook (broken, on the floor). Also, there are 2 night establishments (a club/closes at 5am and a bar/closes at 3am) right below the hotel. So forget about getting any sleep. The floor was literally rumbling from the night club on the second floor.

Stayed overnight, never again. The room wasn’t big enough to swing a cat in, decor grubby. Windows old and flaky paint, carpet dirty. Found a half eaten kebab in the mini fridge, and an opened bottle of someone else’s water on arrival. Socket point not working. The bathroom ( down a grubby corridor ) smelt of sewage when you flushed the toilet, and other male guests thought it ok to take a pee with the door wide open! No hand towels in the toilet to wash/dry your hands. The mattress was solid and felt like sleeping on a piece of wood. Horrendous. The music from downstairs bars ( 2 of them ) was deafening in our room, and went on into early hours of morning ? 3am. Revellers from the night before still congregating outside, very loudly, as dawn broke at 5 am. . Didn’t sleep a wink. Worst place I’ve ever stayed in, and they had the audacity to charge £80 for the night. 😡
