Exmoor National Park lies within reach, and the Somerset coast between Minehead and Combe Martin offers dramatic walking routes. Tiverton itself is a short drive away. Duvale Priory sits in the Exe Valley on a riverside location with access to 30 acres of natural grounds, shared with other properties on the estate.
The cottage accommodates up to 26 people across eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Ground floor rooms include a living room with woodburner and entertainment, a separate sitting room, dining room, kitchen with two electric cookers and a Rayburn, games room, and utility area. Upstairs, bedrooms are arranged to suit different group sizes: some have double beds with single beds alongside, others have pairs of singles. Most have their own ensuite shower rooms; two bathrooms serve the remainder. Bed linen, Wi-Fi and heating are included. The kitchen is equipped for serious cooking or casual meals.
A hot tub seats five and is available throughout the day. Grounds feature a children's play area and garden seating (seasonally). Two dogs are welcome to stay free, provided they remain on lead. The property has its own parking and sits on a natural water supply. No smoking is permitted inside.

We had an excellent weekend at Duvale Priory. I organised a stag weekend for my brother with about 16 guests - there is plenty of space to have different activities going on at the same time and get a comfy bed each! We setup a space for Poker, watching the World Cup, two rooms with DJ setups and the garden and nearby river are absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen is really well equipped, the outside bbq is a really nice spot and plenty of fridge space is a win! Rosena has created an excellent setup - highly recommended and I hope to return one day!

Thirty of us gathered at Duvale Barn for our annual family holiday week. We had a great time - the facilities are suitable for all ages. The play area was popular with the children, as was the hot tub, which was also well used by some of the adults. The house is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, with plenty of fridge and freezer space, efficient hobs and ovens, and lots of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The new bar is a great addition and was put to good use. We also enjoyed getting together outside - the garden furniture is comfortable, and seems to dry remarkably quickly after rain. And a stroll round the lake in the adjoining field makes a pleasant break. The roof over the large outside barbecue was a welcome addition- we thought we might need it for protection from rain but fortunately it stayed dry. We enjoyed the brand new cosy “hobbit hut” (as some of us called the summerhouse) with its sheepskin rugs - the children loved it. We didn’t use the fire pit and bbq in the hut (there is a chimney) but we were impressed with the commitment that it showed to improving the facilities. The EV charging point is very handy - we had four EVs among our group this year. All in all it's a great place for a large group to come together and chill out. We'll be back next year!

We stayed at Duvale Priory with three of our girls football teams for a long weekend. The property was perfect for us, safe, welcoming and plenty of space for everyone. Rosena was a perfect host and her chickens kept us all very entertained. It really is a lovely venue and I would recommend for anyone who has a large group. We will be telling the rest of our teams about this special place.

We were a group of 27 people from our church prayer group and stayed at Duvale Priory from 29th to 31st May for two nights. We had a truly wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A special mention goes to Rosena, who was exceptionally helpful throughout the booking and stay. She was always reachable on WhatsApp and responded promptly to any questions or requests, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. The property itself is spacious and ideal for large groups. There are plenty of communal areas for gathering, and the kitchen is large, well-equipped, and stocked with all the necessary plates, cutlery, cookware, and other essentials required for self-catering. The only challenge we faced was allocating rooms to families, as each bedroom has a different bedding configuration. However, with a little planning and flexibility from everyone, we arranged the accommodation successfully by allocating one staircase predominantly to the men and the other to the women, and it worked perfectly with no issues at all. Overall, Duvale Priory is a fantastic venue for large groups, retreats, family gatherings, and church events. We would highly recommend it and would be delighted to return in the future.
