Henrhiw Farm Cottages - The Old Granary

Monmouthshire

The Old Granary began life as a working farm building, then underwent complete renovation to reach luxury standards across 2020 and 2021. Now a Grade II listed property on Henrhiw Farm, it sits in a working courtyard with views across open countryside and direct access to 135 acres of land—30 of which are woodland. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms serve up to six guests, with the main bedroom on the ground floor offering a kingsize bed and ensuite; two further doubles upstairs can be configured as zip-and-link super kingsize beds or separated into singles. A family bathroom serves the upper storey.

The ground floor holds the hub of the property: an open-plan kitchen and dining area flowing into a living room where exposed beams, a drop chandelier and woodburner create character. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, wine cooler and microwave all present—and a breakfast area overlooks the space. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included; initial logs for the fire are also provided. An enclosed garden with sitting-out furniture extends the living space outdoors, and the private hot tub (for six) sits within it. Private parking accommodates three cars, and a bike store is available for exploring the surrounding lanes and woodland paths.

Henrhiw sits near Usk, a historic small town with castle, independent shops and pubs, while Raglan lies eight miles away with its own castle and gliding club. Tintern Abbey is fourteen miles on, Abergavenny nine miles (famous for its September food festival). The property is non-smoking; cots, highchairs and stairgates are available on request for families with young children.
