Woolacombe Riding Stables

Lovely little riding school. My 4 year old had a fab little pony and everyone who worked there was really chatty and kind to him. He had a brilliant time, and wants to do more riding in the future. We would come back when next on our holidays, and next time would book the beach ride for me too 😎

Lovely beach ride across woolacombe/putsborough beach this morning. I rode a beautiful mare called lily who was pretty forward going and eager to go faster. Our guide was extremely friendly and chatty. Had a little walk trot assessment in their arena beforehand to see if the horses were suitable for riders ability, and off we went!! Picturesque scenery throughout the ride. Very pleased x

I also should have read the reviews! We wanted a beach ride, we were told our 17 year old that rides 3 times a week for 6 years on multiple horses was not experienced enough after paying for an assessment ride which was very boring around the farm and cost £85. My daughter was left in tears, insulted that her riding was not up to it. Fortunately another local riding stable did beach rides that were superb, friendly and the opposite of this difficult and unfriendly stable.

Enjoyed a beautiful scenic ride today - what a friendly welcoming yard. Having recently got back in to riding after 20 years out of the saddle it was quite daunting but the care and attention giving to ensure the right horse was matched was fantastic. It’s clear they care about the horses and riders. Thank you Corrina and Laura - it was a lovely ride led but two warm and friendly pros! Given a 4* as felt horse was quite slow from the get go and couldn’t get a canter. Although relatively new back in to it, in I’ve never experienced a horse not move in to center when out in the hillsides with other horses - that part was a bit disappointing.
