Crich Tramway Village

My husband chose to visit this museum and inside, I groaned. Not my kind of place but didn't say anything. Boy was i in for a treat. This place is brilliant! Ample parking. Prices weren't too bad. Loved seeing all the trams on display. Had a coffee and cake. The coffee, although out of a machine, was the best I've tasted! Took a tram ride and got off at the Woodland Walk and Sculpture area. We both loved it. The Sculptures were fantastic. We will definitely be back as we want to take our grandsons next time 100% highly recommend this place

What a fantastic place! We spent a good few hours here today along with our two dogs, who were made very welcome by all staff they encountered. Tram rides are included in the entry price and take around 25/30 mins to go to the end of the line and back. On the return leg, we alighted and took the woodland walk which offers valley views, woodland carvings/sculptures and opens out in to a children's play area before reaching the 'town' section of the museum. Here there is a pub, gift shop, sweet shop and cafe. You can also wander around the static displays of trams chattering them through the decades. The storage buildings are also open for viewings (be careful if you have dogs or children here as the floor can be quite oily). Overall, a fabulously interesting and enjoyable day.

The National Tramway Museum is a wonderful place to spend at least half a day. Easy and free parking on site, entry is around £26 per adult and I couldn't see any concessions for students or pensioners, but the overall experience justifies the cost of entry as it's a quite wonderful place. Your ticket also entitles you to return across the following year making it great value. The site is large and there's much to explore including a large array of Trams, retro sweet shop, cafe, retro pub, exhibitions and more. Then of course there is also the main event which is a tram ride, which is quite wonderful. Highly recommend a visit if you'd like to experience going back in time in a wonderful way.

Had a fantastic day here for Mother's Day. There were 5 of us plus 1 dog and we went on a Monday at the very beginning of the season, so it was very quiet, just how we like it. We loved the pub as it was moved from our home town of Stoke and visited it a few times throughout the day. FANTASTIC sausages at the cafe (really fantastic) and although you can't take dogs in the cafe, you can buy food and take it to the pub and eat it there. Staff and volunteers are knowledgeable, passionate and really approachable. They know their stuff and will explain all that's going on. Tram rides are fantastic and free to ride unlimited times and the trams in the sheds are outstanding. Lovely sweet shop with lots of nostalgic sweets for sale. Prices were really good throughout the site, from the cafe to the gifts shop. There is a woodland walk that we missed out this time, but we'll definitely make use of the free returns tickets and do the walk in the autumn. Well done to all the staff and volunteers for a really memorable day out. See you again in Autumn 😊
