Rolling farmland surrounds Honies Farm Barns, where The Wheat Store sits as a sympathetically converted rural building 5 miles from Newark town centre. The conversion preserves original features while adding modern comforts: ground-source heat pump underfloor heating, fast wifi, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and wine cooler included. Bed linen, towels and electricity are covered in the price.
Everything happens on the ground floor. The open-plan living space flows from a sitting area with a Smart TV through to a dining zone opening onto a patio. One bedroom has a zip-and-link arrangement of two 3ft single beds; the other a 5ft kingsize. The main ensuite offers a walk-in shower; a separate bathroom combines a bath and shower. Parking for two cars sits on the property, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. An enclosed front sitting area with garden furniture faces out across the fields.
This is a no-smoking space. The surrounding countryside offers miles of walking and cycling routes, while Newark itself lies within easy reach of Lincoln, Nottingham and the River Trent. Farndon village, a few miles away, has a pub overlooking the water.

Very nice location, large property. Beds comfy, nice bedding and towels provided but more coat hangers are needed in the wardrobes. Things are looking a bit shabby, the sofas need replacing and are very uncomfortable. This was our fourth stay here and they were past their best on our first stay. The outdoor furniture looks lovely but again is shabby and the table very unstable and could be blown over in a strong wind. We stayed during the heat wave and a couple of fans were provided but it was still a very warm house, which is great for winter but not so great in summer. A bit of tlc and this could be back to five stars.

We had the most wonderful stay at Honies Farm as a group of 5 friends. The house has been renovated to an extremely high standard and has everything that you require for your stay. The kitchen is equipped with every utensil that you could possibly require, the most comfiest beds, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms/ensuites that have gorgeous toiletries. The garden and the hot tub are the icing on the cake, especially as we were lucky enough to have sunny weather! The local village is a pleasant easy walk away with a gastro pub that serves good quality food, that is if you can drag yourselves away from the gorgeous property! I would not hesitate to rebook for a relaxing break and I would highly recommend to friends and family.

What a fantastic setting,no distractions total relaxation , we stayed in the house everything you could think of was there,home from home. To be honest I didn't want to come home. Not far from newark which is great for shopping,its all in the welcome pack. We walked to a the local pub and had a lovely meal. Then went in the hot tub what more could you wish for, oh the beds are huge ,definitely will be going again

We stayed in the Wheat Store to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. We had an absolutely amazing weekend. The barn was stunning, spotlessly clean and so peaceful and relaxing. The bedrooms were so spacious with lovely big comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms. Thank you for a lovely stay. We hope to return!
