About Stock Park Lakeside Camping

Tucked on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere near Newby Bridge, Stock Park Lakeside Camping delivers what its name promises: direct access to England's longest lake. Launch a kayak or paddleboard from the beach, cast a line from the water's edge, or simply soak up mountain views from one of the spacious grass pitches. Clean toilet blocks with hot showers and washing-up facilities keep things comfortable, while fire pits (firewood available to hire) add atmosphere come evening. The welcoming hosts help maintain the peaceful, back-to-nature feel that draws campers back.

With room for just 11–25 pitches and dogs welcome year-round, this remains a small, uncrowded base for exploring the southern Lakes. Windermere's ferry stops and activity centres lie within easy reach, as does the fascinating bobbin mill museum across the road. The setting and facilities earn high praise, though with wild camping simplicity comes a certain rustic charm—perfect for those who prioritise lakeside location over luxury.

Myself and my partner stayed at the sight for 3 nights and the view of the lake from pur pitch was beautiful. And i think if we had parked anywhere it would have just been as good. Was busy on the saturday with other people but we stayed sunday night also when the sight was much quieter no issues at all either night. Tom was great we came straight after work on the friday meaning we got their quite late but told him in advance and was no issues! He even charged up our portable battery pack for us and was always to hand at a text message away. Shower and toilet facilities were just what you expected also and was a nice surprise to find hot showers! Also we loved how we could have our own fire, but saw plenty of other people buying the bags of logs provided and renting the firepits which was a nice touch! Would and will definitely be booking to come again!

Had a fantastic stay at Stock Park Lakeside Camping and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District. The site is easy to access, set in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Windermere, with great access for paddleboarding, swimming and enjoying the lake. The facilities are excellent, with clean, well-maintained toilets and showers that make the stay even more comfortable. A special mention to Tom, who is a brilliant host. He’s friendly, welcoming and always happy to help with anything you need. His hard work and attention to detail really show throughout the site. If you’re looking for a peaceful lakeside campsite with great facilities and a fantastic atmosphere, this is definitely the place to stay. We’ll be back again soon!

We stayed here recently and had a fantastic time. Tom, the owner, was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for a relaxed stay. The site itself has a lovely laid-back atmosphere — no fuss, just a great place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The setting is absolutely beautiful, right by the lake with stunning views all around. Perfect for switching off and enjoying the outdoors. A great touch was the fire pits and logs available on site, which made the evenings even better sat out watching the sunset. Overall, a brilliant campsite in a fantastic location. We’ll definitely be returning.

Lovely camp site. A little waterlogged but pitches were still sturdy and the location more than made up for it. Toilets clean and shower warm. No lights in the toilets or shower so take a torch with you. Lovely little pic nic area at too of the mound and direct access to Windermere. A chilled atmosphere and a great stay..
