We have stayed for a few nights at a cabin overlooking the lake. The cabin was well-looked after and the view was magnificent. Hat tip to Jackie who was very kind and helpful. We've had a minor issue regarding bedding and she promptly remedied it (with a nicely written note and a bag of treats!). There is also a conveniently-placed cafe and a shop inside the estate. I recommend Hill of Oaks for anyone wanting an escape from busy metropolitan life into the expanse Windermere and the beautiful scenery.

Hill of Oaks is right next to Lake Windermere and has some beautiful views. We stayed in the Lily of the Valley cottage. The rooms were clean and well-presented and they left a box of goodies for us on arrival. When I had a shower in the main bathroom, we discovered a leak. We informed the staff and they sent someone to fix it the same day. The internet was patchy but we didn't mind. We really enjoyed the quiet.

We had a wonderful stay in one of the pods at Hill of Oaks Park in the Lake District. The location is beautiful, right by the lake with lovely views and peaceful surroundings. The pod itself was excellent – surprisingly spacious and incredibly well-designed. Every inch of space was used cleverly, making it feel comfortable and practical for the three of us (me, my husband, and our 11-year-old son). It had everything we needed for a relaxing break, with a cosy, modern feel. The only downside was the very poor mobile signal – we were almost completely disconnected from the outside world, which made sending or receiving messages impossible at times. While this was a bit inconvenient, it actually added to the peaceful, off-grid feel of the stay for the most part. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cosy, well-equipped Pod in a stunning lakeside setting.

My husband, dog and I recently stayed in a glamping pod and had an amazing time. The glamping pod was really lovely inside and had a beautiful lake view which was amazing to wake up to. The staff went above and beyond by putting up balloons as this was my birthday trip and had a dog goody bag. I would highly recommend staying here. The area was really good as we were close to lots of places to visit and hikes. Didn’t get a chance to try the cafe as it isn’t open all the time which we did not realise and should have looked at the opening times. Unfortunately our bathroom heater wasn’t working and it was very cold due to the time of year and our towels couldn’t dry or our floor (bathroom is a wet room). We did let reception know, who immediately sent out maintenance but they weren’t able to fix it. The service was really good but a shame about this issue. The lodge does advertise that the wifi is good for messaging but not for streaming etc. We struggled a bit with the wifi as we found it difficult to research where to go for walks/best places to park so just to be aware of this if staying there. I would also recommend bringing toilet roll as there was only 1 and we stayed 4 nights. But overall we had a really amazing time and would definitely come back!
