About Trewern Arms Hotel

The Trewern Arms is a 16th-century freehouse inn on the banks of the River Nevern, in the picturesque village of Nevern, about two miles inland from Newport. Nine en-suite bedrooms sit above and around a low-beamed bar that has changed little in character over the centuries.

The riverside garden and terrace are popular in summer for a drink or a meal looking over the water, and the restaurant serves a menu built around local produce alongside a range of cask ales. The village itself is known for St Brynach's Church and its ancient yew avenue, including the well-known bleeding yew.

Its inland, riverside setting makes it a quieter alternative to staying in Newport itself, while still being a short drive from the coast, the beach and the Coast Path.

Stayed for one night in this lovely hotel with two friends in a triple room. Room was spacious and well equipped with en suite bathroom, very decent room! The staff are extremely lovely and knowledgeable of the area, and while there wasn’t dinner available while we were there the breakfast was wonderful (buffet selection of cereal/coffee/tea etc with a cooked option of choice as well). All in all a lovely hotel would very much recommend for a relaxing holiday in Pembrokeshire!

The restaurant was excellent! Fantastic soup, leek and bacon pie, spicy Welsh rarebit on a Portabello mushroom, and fresh local ice cream for dessert. Breakfast was also perfectly cooked and the water pressure in the showers was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location and beautiful service. We stayed one night here in a family room. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Lots of nice bathroom supplies and good choice of hot drinks in the room. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was exceptional. The staff were kind, warm and helpful. The games room was nice. Kids enjoyed it here as did we. Lovely location to explore around.
