About Burrowhead Holiday Village

Perched on the clifftops near the Isle of Whithorn, Burrowhead Holiday Village offers direct access to a sandy beach and sweeping views across Wigtown Bay. The site's outdoor swimming pool is a particular hit with families, and electric hook-ups are spread across three grassy pitch areas (15 in total, plus 30 non-electric spots). Dogs are welcome to join, and the facilities include hot showers, WiFi and chemical disposal points.

Being open year-round, it's a popular base for exploring the rugged Galloway coastline and the Southern Upland Way. Some visitors note that certain amenities can feel a little dated, but the dramatic setting and beachside location more than compensate. If you're after a clifftop pitch within earshot of the waves, this Newton Stewart site delivers.

We had four wonderful days here, wishing we’d booked for much longer … so peaceful and tranquil, a place to just relax and find yourself. We’ll find ourselves back here at the earliest opportunity! This southwest area of Scotland is a hidden gem, we loved our whole experience!

Beautiful location, can't fault the views at all. Just needed some real TLC which is a shame because the site could have some real potential to be amazing. We stayed in the cabin it was clean but needed again some TLC, especially the electrical sockets many were hardly hanging onto the wall. Although the cabin wasnt great the view from the huge front windows was amazing, huge uninterpreted sea views.

First time visiting and won't be our last. Clean site and amenities. There was plenty to do, we especially loved the walks from the campsite and exploring the rocks. The phone signal is poor but this just added to our experience as the kids enjoyed exploring and being out doors. The location is stunning and a short drive away to stunning beaches. The only thing to be aware of is the non electric pitches were quite a walk away from the toilet/shower block, which didnt really bother us much (just more in the middle of the night)

Fantastic holiday. We stayed 6 nights with a tourer and were joined mid week by elderly parents in motorhome and friends with child in campervan. We all had a great time playing crazy golf, darts, pool and the 2p machines. We went fishing at the Isle of Whithorn. We had lunch at the tea rooms in the Isle well worth a visit food was great. The Campsite has everything you need, Staff are really nice. Weather was good no rain apart from Storm Foris was a bit windy some days but please remember the Staff cannot control the weather, however you did a good job of the weather when we visited thank you 🤣. Would return great wee place
