Stayed at knockschool for 4 nights this week. The site is immaculate, Pauline is so helpful and knowledgeable. 10 minute walk to one of four little beaches which we visited every day. There is also a links golf course. The Gavin Maxwell memorial is on the way to the beach too. Facilities are basic, but the shower is hot and all very clean what more could you want. This is a perfect gem of a little site. We would not hesitate to book again

I had a lovely stay at this campsite. The site was lovely with beautifully cut grass and flowerbeds. The facilities were quirky but well kept and spotless. Pauline is a delightful host and I appreciated her chats about the local area. Many thanks and best wishes.

This place is a keeper! 👍 Tidy generous pitches, well-kept facilities, suitable for motorhomes and tents (there is also self-catering cottage). Hosts Pauline and Gordon are very friendly, a pleasure to talk to and can tell a lot about area and its history. Location is great. There is St Medan's golf course nearby, place is also convenient as a base when exploring Galloway. Local amenities within a couple miles drive and well served by local buses. Place is perfect for stargazers: it is a dark sky area, perfect for viewing celestial events. There are beaches in walking distance and picturesque walks.

Pauline and family are running a lovely, welcoming holiday cottage and camp site. The local area is just beautiful, with the beach a short walk away. The cottage is well equipped, with a good kitchen, sitting room with a DVD selection and a beautiful breakfast room looking over the fields. This is especially good for watching the sunsets from! Overall, Pauline is a great host with a wealth of local knowledge. We will be returning!
