About Acorn Meadow
Acorn Meadow delivers exactly what a proper countryside campsite should: open fields, genuinely friendly owners, and the kind of peaceful Norfolk setting where you can actually hear birdsong. It's family and dog friendly – essential credentials given that a decent country pub sits just ten minutes' walk away – and the facilities, while simple, are well-kept and spotlessly clean. Visitors consistently praise the helpful, welcoming approach of the hosts, who clearly care about getting the basics right.
The site stays open year-round, making it a flexible base for exploring this quieter corner of Norfolk, whether you're after Thetford Forest walks or the market towns dotted around Thompson. Prices are fair, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it's the sort of place where you'll find yourself booking again without fuss.

What visitors say
This site is perfect! Owner gave us a map for the local area and told us about the pub in the village. We were in the area working at a festival and the location was superb for Thetford forest! Toilets and showers were spotless, didn’t feel like I was on a regular campsite.

We camped here as a group of friends to ride on the nearby green lanes. It is in a great position to access all of the green lanes. Fred was so lovely, helpful, attentive and welcoming. We really appreciated the flexibility of our arrival time and he was so nice to let us leave our vans on the day of checkout whilst we went for another ride! The toilets were spotless and the shower was great. Tucked away in a lovely rural location with a great pub nearby. What more could anybody want!

Lovely little site, quiet and level. I was in my campervan. Fred happened to be there to greet me and explain the facilities. Toilets, shower, elsan, bins. He also gave great directions to local interest areas and pub. Ground and equipment very well maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Had a lovely peaceful stay here and a Sunday walk around pingo trail. Fred was welcoming and friendly, greeting us when we arrived making sure we had everything we needed. He gave us a paper map of the trail which was much appreciated. The facilities are spotless. The toilets and shower look like portaloos but they're properly plumbed in inside. There's also a washing up area. The site itself is really pretty, it's a smaller campsite and has a few trees and saplings throughout. It's also dog friendly which is a must for us. We are looking forward to staying again when we've planned our peddlars way walk. Thanks Fred.
