Crediton sits at the edge of North Devon's farmland, with the market towns of South Molton and Tiverton both within reach, and the village of Witheridge just minutes away. The Oak Stall occupies one half of a converted Grade II listed barn at Higher Blagrove Farm, rebuilt in 2019 to preserve the original stonework and oak beams while adding the comforts of modern living.
The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with singles—and has two bathrooms. Downstairs is open-plan: a sitting area with woodburner, a separate dining space, and a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals, with an electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher and everything else needed. Upstairs are the bedrooms and bathrooms. Ground source heating and electricity from solar panels keep bills under control, and the essentials—bed linen, towels and wifi—are all sorted.
You have a private parking space for two cars and the use of a bike store. One well-behaved pet stays free. The grounds are shared with the owner and one other holiday let, and include a landscaped lake with seating areas 50 yards from the cottage—which is unfenced, so worth noting if you have young children. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided for outdoor meals. Witheridge has a convenience store, pub and café, and a Wednesday pizza van if cooking doesn't appeal.

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape to the beautiful Devon countryside, this is the place to be. Higher Blagrove Cottages are maintained to an exceptional standard and beautifully presented. The furniture and appliances were so pristine, they looked as if they’d been purchased brand new just for our stay. I travel often, and I couldn’t recommend these wonderful cottages more. Huge thanks to Lindsey and Jonny for being such fantastic hosts – nothing was ever too much to ask. My mum and I loved our stay and will definitely be back. The photos speak for themselves. Don’t hesitate to book it!

We had a wonderful stay at Higher Blagrove Farm. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, the barns are much bigger than you'd expect, clean and very warm but you have the freedom to change the heating settings to your desired temp. We had a young toddler with us and the bedroom on the ground floor was great as it allowed her to toddle around the open plan living areas and rooms easily. They kindly set up a cot as requested too. Just a lovely area to be in, very quiet, lots of nearby walking routes and good natured hosts! We definitely want to stay here again!

Beautiful and oh so well presented both the property and the surroundings. Spotlessly clean, and the owners are so nice. The Oak Stall is a credit to them. 100% recommend for a holiday cottage.
