Heckington has a railway station with direct services to Skegness, making it a practical base for coastal trips, and the village itself rewards wandering on foot. The eight-sailed windmill is a genuine rarity, complete with tea room and brewery. There's a Co-op, butcher, greengrocer, florist, several cafés and pubs within easy reach, and the Heckington Show—one of the largest village shows in the UK—takes place each July.
The Painters Cottage sleeps five across three bedrooms: a king, a double and a single. Downstairs has a living room with smart TV, dining room, and a kitchen where you can cook properly, plus a bathroom with a bath and shower. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. The property has its own enclosed garden with seating and furniture, private parking for three cars, and allows one dog to stay free of charge. No smoking inside.
The cottage works for families or small groups after 4pm on arrival and must be left by 10am on departure.
