Stonylea Cottage

Stonylea Cottage is a detached two-bedroom property within Palacerigg Country Park, a 700-acre estate of grassland, moorland, woodland and ponds where roe deer, badgers, foxes and various owls are regularly spotted. The cottage sleeps five: one bedroom has a double bed and a z-bed, the other has three single beds. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The living and dining rooms both have open fires, with initial fuel included. Electricity, bed linen, towels and WiFi are all covered in the rental. Gas central heating runs October to March. An enclosed garden with seating and furniture overlooks the grounds, and there is parking for two cars on site. One dog can stay free of charge.

The location suits walkers and nature watchers: woodland trails begin from the door, and the property sits on the edge of a golf course with horse riding available half a mile away. A pub and restaurant are one mile distant, with shops three miles away. Glasgow and Stirling are roughly 30 minutes' drive; Loch Lomond National Park is 45 minutes. Smoking is not permitted inside.
