What visitors say
Absolutely fantastic stay. Would highly recommend this to anyone considering stunning Yorkshire dale views with a very cosy and well presented lodge. Would also recommend the camping option as we had a little look around too. Rural, authentic and about as genuine as it gets. Extremely clean, and we were welcomed by the lovely owners. Amazing value and we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you to you both for a memorable and personal stay. Sad we had to leave.

Me and my partner stayed here last night, we absolutely loved it and wished we'd booked for longer. It was so peaceful and serene, especially when we went into the hot tub in the evening, looking out towards the reservoir, life just felt so calm in that moment! The shepherd's hut was exactly what I'd wanted, one of those places where it's the little touches that really stand out, little snacks for your arrival, fluffy dressing gowns ect. One simple thing I personally liked (as someone thats always cold) was the heating system, very easy to use and heats up pretty quickly. We did get rain but even that was relaxing haha, the whole thing just felt so cosy and homely. I didn't meet the hosts but my partner did, he couldn't stop telling me just how lovely they both were. Definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!!

Great little site with well maintained facilities, showers and toilets were immaculate. Priced well, we stayed on the EHU pitches with a 7.5M motorhome and had no problem getting in and out. Reservoir walk was just on the edge of the campsite and the dales are nearby. Would recommend you plan ahead if you want to do a Dales walk from the site. We did a circular route up to Simons Seat and was a lovely walk with lots of wildlife to see. Thanks to the owners for a nice couple of days.

Absolutely lovely campsite. Direct walk to Thurcross reservoir and lots of information on other local walks. Close to stump cross cavern. The normal pitches are on a little bit of a hill but the electric hook up spots are levelled. The staff come around with fire pits which you keep for you whole stay as well as offering marshmallows. The facilities are absolutely spotless. Honestly the nicest campsite I have been to in the UK in quite a while. 10/10 highly recommend.
