We were looking for somewhere to camp for the night, local to Scarborough, for our night out at the open air theatre. A friend of my partner stayed here a few weeks back for the same reason and highly recommended it. It was just the 2 of us with a tent for one night, so they charged us £22!! (Electric hook up is available for an extra fee) Was perfect, beautiful location, surrounded by woodland, fields and wildlife. Just under 3 miles to Scarborough itself, so easily accessible by car, bus or taxi, or even a nice walk!! Phil, the gentleman that runs it with his wife (he told us she is third generation to run this site) greeted us on arrival with 2 cold beers and even offered us a lift into town!! Lovely toilets/shower block, the usual water points and standard amenities you’d expect at any other site, but a fraction of the price. We didn’t get back until about 2:30am, so we were late getting up, but I spoke to Phil around lunchtime and he said there was no panic or rush to check out. We will definitely be returning, probably within the next month or so, just for a nice quiet few nights away. It’s just ace!!!!

A warm welcome from Philip, the site owner. Nice spacious pitches with EHU on a meter. Very quiet and peaceful, loved the wildlife and the sounds of the owls at night. 12 minute walk into Scalby village, 2 pubs and a tea rooms. Buses into Scarborough and great countryside hikes from campsite. Elsan, toilet cassette disposal but no grey water disposal. Showers on a token system, £1.50 for 5 minutes. Would be better if you are self-sufficient as toilet, shower and washing up area were a bit disappointing.

We had a brilliant week there in August 2024. Get one of Phills washing machine drum firepits. Brilliant and well worth the £10 we paid for the week including fuel
