Inn in Chapel-le-Dale with en suite rooms and traditional food in a 17th-century building.

About The Old Hill Inn

The Old Hill Inn is a 1615 lodge in Chapel-le-Dale, deep in the Yorkshire Dales landscape. The rooms come with en suite bathrooms and showers, and the inn serves traditional English food.

This is a base for exploring some of England's most dramatic upland scenery rather than a camping site in the conventional sense. The Dales walk from the doorstep, and the surrounding moorland and limestone hills draw walkers year-round. The Old School Bunkhouse and Philpin Farm Campsite are just up the road if you're travelling with a larger group or need different accommodation.

Such a beautiful place with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The people working here are very accommodating and make sure you have everything you need. The only issue is if you don't drive you are miles away from any shops, restaurants or takeaways so make sure you pack plenty of food!!

Recently attended the cosy old style pub The Old Hill inn, whilst staying at Phillip Farm Campsite. The pub is well decorated and rich with history filled stories, Bean told us a few good stories that were great to listen to. Matching the good stories are a good selection of beers and spirits. Great little pub set in a fantastic location overlooking the hills of Yorkshire. The owner Bean is absolutely lovely, if there’s a pub you should visit whilst in the Yorkshire Dales it’s this one! Thanks Bean !

Want to thank the owners for their hospitality today after my dad suffered loss of feeling in his legs after walking on the three peaks track. Also want to thank the fellow walkers who aided my dad back to the inn. Was nice for owner to allow us to come in on day they normally closed and cook us lovely bacon sandwich and drink. Can't thank you all enough 🙏 :)
