Whitby's narrow streets and Abbey ruins lie 25 miles away; Scarborough's waterpark and sandy beaches closer still; yet Brompton Lodge sits in quieter countryside on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, within reach of the North Yorkshire coast but set back from the bustle. The hamlet location means you have space and privacy, with a large garden, patio and grounds to yourself.
The house contains five bedrooms spread across two floors, sleeping up to nine. Downstairs there's a sitting room with Smart TV and streaming services, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and all the basics for self-catering. Upstairs, one bedroom has an ensuite shower and a super king bed; two others have king and double beds with their own shower rooms; the remaining two are singles. A family bathroom serves the upper floor. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available, along with a cot and highchair if you need them.
What sets this property apart is the indoor heated swimming pool—28 feet long, just over four feet deep, with a shower and changing area adjoining. The large garden gives children room to run. Parking for multiple cars sits on the grounds. One small dog is welcome. The property is non-smoking throughout.

Great place. Very roomy and we'll laid out with good amenities (washing machine, dishwasher, 2 fridges & freezers) . Nice pool. Very quiet with plenty of private parking.

Nine family members enjoyed a week here. The pool was warm and clean. 4ft 6” depth with stairs leading in so not suitable for nervous children. Our two small girls loved it, using swimming aids. Pool length enough for adults to have a reasonable workout. House is large and well equipped. Ample towels provided and the bed linen clean and fresh. Very efficient washing machine and large tumble dryer. House interior is dated but well kept and comfortable. Silly request, but a rotary washing line in the lovely garden would be useful. Situated very convenient to popular destinations. Very quiet. We went to Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, Robin Hood Bay, York. The moors are beautiful. We live a very long way from the cottage so sadly probably won’t revisit but highly recommend.

Good location, good size and good pool. However the property needs a complete refurbishment. Particularly the kitchen units and the showers. You're able to take dogs but the garden isn't secure. We found that some of the mattresses also need replacing. We visited seven years ago and we found simular problems. It is a great pity that such a property with such potential isn't better maintained. Despite those problems we enjoyed our break there..
