Broughton Hall Estate - Chapel Flat
North Yorkshire
Chapel Flat occupies a private wing of Broughton Hall, an 18th-century country house whose architecture and grounds have featured in period television productions. The apartment retains original details throughout—high ceilings, hand-carved marble fireplaces, and working open fireplace in the living room, which overlooks the rolling parkland. You arrive via a stone staircase and arched corridor that sets the tone for the whole place. The living room itself holds historic paintings and commands views across the estate's woodland.
Three bedrooms, each with an ensuite, accommodate six guests. Two have traditional four-poster doubles with slipper baths; the third adds a walk-in shower. The kitchen, newly created from what was originally a bedroom, combines vivid oak cabinetry and granite with modern appliances—oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave—so you can cook properly rather than just heat things up. Essentials including heating, electricity, bedlinen, towels and wi-fi come with your stay, as does fuel for the woodburner.
The flat sits within grounds shared with other properties on the estate, but parking for two cars is reserved for your use. A pub lies within a mile. Most distinctively, your booking includes exclusive access to Broughton Sanctuary's 3,000 acres of woodland, moorland and wildflower meadows, part of England's largest rewilding programme—grounds to walk, cycle or explore during downtime. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
