Broughton Hall Estate - Higher Scarcliffe
North Yorkshire
Photo: Google Maps
Skipton's market town buzz is only three miles away, but Higher Scarcliffe sits high enough above the valley to feel entirely removed from it. The surrounding 3,000 acres of grounds offer walking and exploring, with the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the doorstep. Carleton village is within reach for supplies and a quieter evening out, accessed via a single-track road that climbs through farmland.
The property is a converted 17th-century farmhouse with three bedrooms, each with a zip-and-link bed that can be separated into singles on request, and two bathrooms between them. Downstairs you have a living room and a second sitting area, both with woodburners, plus a fully equipped kitchen. The galleried seating area upstairs creates an extra social space. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; logs for the fires come with the booking. A utility room with washer-dryer is available, and there is parking for six cars on site. Outside, a patio with garden furniture and a gas barbecue overlooks the grassed area. The access involves a sloping gravel path and steps in places. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
