Bumblebee Lodge works well for families with young children or couples wanting more space. The single-storey layout means everything happens on one level: an open-plan living area with a Smart TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and three bedrooms sleeping up to five. One bathroom serves the property. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; a travel cot and highchair are available if needed. There's parking for one car on site and a front garden with patio seating.
The lodge sits in Staithes, a working fishing village where cobles still land crab, lobster and fish. The village's cobbled streets, harbour and surrounding cliffs have long drawn artists – an annual festival and regular workshops reflect that. Captain Cook served his apprenticeship here, and there's history in the old buildings scattered about. The beach is small and rocky; the harbour lies at the foot of a steep hill, worth knowing if mobility is a consideration. Pubs, shops and tea rooms are dotted through the village. Boat trips run from the harbour for birdwatching and fishing. Staithes Beck flows alongside the property with its own waterfall and wildlife.
