You arrive at Clematis Cottage to find a double-fronted stone cottage with a front garden and patio. Inside, one step takes you level with a living room that has a woodburner, dining room and kitchen equipped for real cooking—electric cooker, dishwasher and washer dryer included. Downstairs also has a separate toilet. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and one single, served by a shower room. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered; there's also initial fuel for the woodburner.
Burnsall itself is small and centred on a wide green that slopes down to the River Wharfe—genuinely picture-postcard terrain. A 16th-century pub sits within walking distance, along with a two-rosette restaurant. The village puts you squarely in walking country, from easy riverside paths to serious hill routes, and it's popular with cyclists navigating the Tour de France region. Grassington, about three miles away, hosts a summer arts festival and winter events. Skipton, ten miles off, has shops, markets, a Norman castle, an indoor pool and a golf course. The cottage doesn't allow smoking.
