Inside Cuckoo Hill View, you step into a ground-floor living room with a wood burner and 40-inch television, which opens into a kitchen and dining area fitted with an electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. A separate toilet completes this level. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with a double—and a bathroom with bath, shower and heated towel rail. The cottage sleeps four and is yours alone for the duration of your stay.
An enclosed courtyard with garden furniture sits at the back, and you can park one car on site. Essentials like bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included, along with initial logs for the wood burner and complimentary accommodation for one dog. No smoking inside. The Black Bull public house is nearby for an evening out.
Cuckoo Hill View works well for families or small groups wanting to explore Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales. Walking trails fan out in all directions, and the market town of Richmond—with its Norman castle, riverside walks and cafés—lies a short drive away. Leyburn, another market town, is seven miles west.
