Easily one of the best castles I’ve visited. The grounds are well kept and the ruins are fantastic. I really enjoyed that you can go inside and all the way to the top of the main tower, even with dogs. It’s lots of steps across multiple levels but it’s well worth it. Don’t miss the cockpit garden either - a real gem!

We had such a wonderful time with three kids and our dog. It was exciting for the children to see the ruins and all its little hiding corners. They even have a trail for the children to do. Take a picnic and eat it on the field while the kids are running around!

Beautiful ground great little museum on site. The gardens are stunning and the grounds have been well kept. Accessibility for wheelchair users is a bit restricted. The views are stunning and alot of information around the site. Its a national heritage site so free for me as I am a member. It was very windy the day we went so be awear that it can get cold. Toilets on site.

Great Castle to walk around, explore and lots of history -obviously 😂 only criticism is that the only car park nearby is at Market Place which is limited to 2 hours no return. Great views from the top too.
