Jasmine Cottage

Through the front door of Jasmine Cottage, you step directly into a living and dining space centred on a wood burner – the kind of room that becomes the heart of a stay. Upstairs, two generous king bedrooms occupy the first floor, while a third bedroom with twin singles sits on the second. Two bathrooms mean mornings run smoothly. The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking, with an electric oven and gas hob; heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with fuel for the wood burner itself.

The cottage sits in York, within a mile of The Blacksmiths Arms pub. It's the whole place to yourself – no shared facilities – and one dog can stay at no extra cost, though the property does ask that pets aren't left alone in the cottage. There's parking on site for one car, something genuinely useful in this part of North Yorkshire. No smoking indoors.
