Little Fox Cottage

Little Fox Cottage sits on the edge of Lockton, a village surrounded by heather moorland and the North York Moors landscape. The cottage is one of three arranged around a courtyard, and you have the whole place to yourself. Ground-floor accommodation means everything is on one level: a combined living and dining space, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, one double bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Essentials like electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included.

The real draw is immediate access to the moors. Paths and bridleways start from the cottage, leading into Dalby Forest and across open country. A ten-minute walk brings you to the local pub. Pickering, a proper market town with shops, restaurants and a leisure centre, is four miles away. The North York Moors Steam Railway runs from there. Whitby and Goathland are a short drive, as are the coastal villages along the Heritage Coast. Locally you can arrange horse riding, fishing, golf and bike hire. One dog is welcome at no extra cost, and there is parking on site.
