Penny Black Cottage

The limestone hills and moorland around Thornton in Lonsdale draw walkers year-round. Footpaths lead straight into the Yorkshire Dales from the village, taking in woodland, riverside sections, and the fell tops beyond. Penny Black Cottage sits well for exploring on foot, with a woodburner and smart TV for the evenings when you come back.

The cottage is ground floor and first floor. Downstairs holds the living room with the burner, and a kitchen with electric cooker and microwave for cooking proper meals. Upstairs is a single bedroom with a king-size bed and a bathroom with shower over the bath. The essentials—heating, electricity, linen, towels and wifi—are all covered. There's an enclosed garden at the rear with seating, and parking for one car on site. One well-behaved dog can stay at no extra cost.

This is a no-smoking property. The nearby Westhouse Nursery is within reach for supplies, and the area holds the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, White Scar Caves and the Ribblehead Viaduct within a short drive.
