Pond Cottage

Pond Cottage is a restored stone building in West Witton, near Leyburn, set up as a complete retreat rather than a stripped-back bolthole. The essentials—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi—come as standard. Beyond that, there's an Aga in the kitchen, a woodburner in the living room (with initial logs supplied), and underfloor heating throughout. You get a slipper bath upstairs, a separate utility room in an external outbuilding with washing machine and freezer, and parking for one car on site.

Downstairs holds a living room and dining room opening to the kitchen; upstairs, a double bedroom and bathroom. The south-facing garden has lawn, borders and sitting-out furniture. A bike store is on hand, useful given the immediate access to Wensleydale's walking routes. The village pub sits within a mile. One dog is welcome at no extra charge, though the cottage is non-smoking throughout.
