St Margaret’s Church

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

St Margaret's Church is a former place of worship transformed into holiday accommodation in the village of Bentham. The conversion has kept its original character—stained glass, timber beams and interior plaques remain—while the interior layout uses glass walls to create distinct spaces within the open-plan design. Four bedrooms sleep up to eight: two kingsize with ensuite bathrooms, two doubles sharing a family bathroom. A further ground-floor shower room serves the main living areas.

Downstairs spreads across two sitting zones, a modern kitchen with electric oven and induction hob, dining space and utility room. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are provided. The grounds include a sitting area, and there is parking for six cars on site. One dog is welcome. Bentham village lies on the high street nearby, with shops, restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The three peaks—Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough—are accessible from Ingleton, three miles away. Walkers can set out directly from the property for shorter routes through the surrounding countryside. No smoking inside.
