Stonecroft

Stonecroft is an 18th-century stone cottage in Middleham, tucked into a quiet cobbled lane just off the Market Square. Couples and small groups of four will find it suits them well; children under 12 cannot be accommodated. The two bedrooms each have a double bed, with one bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, a living room with wood-burning stove and a separate kitchen-dining space give you room to spread out. One dog travels free.

The cottage retains period character—exposed beams run through the rooms and stonework features in the kitchen—but has been fully renovated with modern essentials. You get electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi included. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals, with an oven, hob, microwave and washing machine. Heating comes from the multi-fuel stove, plus night storage and portable heaters if needed. Outside, a south-facing patio with container plants provides a quiet sitting area, and there is parking for one car.

Middleham Castle stands a short walk away, and the town's pubs, shops and bus services are all within a minute. No smoking inside the property.
