Sundial Cottage

North Yorkshire

Sundial Cottage is a traditional stone building positioned beside Horsehouse village green, overlooking countryside that rolls across the Yorkshire Dales. The property sits high enough to command views in several directions, with direct access to walking and cycling routes that leave straight from the door. Footpaths, ancient tracks and bridleways fan out across the surrounding fields; the River Cover, Pen Hill and Great Whernside are all within reach on foot.

Inside, three bedrooms sleep up to six: a kingsize on the ground floor, and two pairs of singles on the first and second floors. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The ground floor holds a living room with a wood-burning stove and smart TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. One pet stays free of charge. Essentials such as heating, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi are included. A small enclosed garden sits to the rear with a barbecue, and there is on-road parking opposite the cottage. No smoking indoors.

The village pub is within a mile. Middleham Castle, once home to Richard III, lies a short drive away; Leyburn's market square with its independent shops and restaurants is across in Wensleydale. The property suits groups of friends, families and couples seeking base for exploring the Dales on foot or by bike.
