The single bedroom has a kingsize bed; there's a shower room, and an open-plan living and dining area that opens into a conservatory overlooking the enclosed garden. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with an electric oven, hob, microwave and washer-dryer. Heating and hot water are covered, along with wi-fi, bed linen and towels. One dog is welcome here.
Masham itself is a working market town with a Wednesday and Saturday outdoor market, surrounded by independent shops, cafes and pubs. The Sheep Fair arrives each September. Two breweries—Theakston's and Black Sheep—both offer tours and visitor centres. Walking starts on the doorstep: moorland and riverside paths run through the surrounding countryside on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal, Thorpe Perrow Arboretum and Jervaulx Abbey are within reach for a day out. There's on-site parking for one car, an enclosed garden with patio and furniture, and a bike store. The town centre shops are 150 yards away.

I have stayed at the Old Telephone Exchange for many years and it has never disappointed me. Well appointed with everything needed for your stay. Plenty of good eating places within easy reach if you don’t want to cook. There is a Morrisons 10 minutes away in Ripon if you want to stock up. The WiFi is fast and reliable and there is a smart tv with all the relevant apps you need. You just need to put in your account details for Iplayer, Netflix etc. The bed is comfortable and lets you have a decent nights sleep and wake up refreshed. There is still so much to see that I will be back next year. I highly recommend staying here and the backup from Mark and Nikki at Destination Ripon is first class.

Just back from a lovely 2 night stay at the old telephone exchange a slight problem with the oven but Mark the host was brilliant when we phoned him and told him about the oven he came over to the cottage with a solution and was extremely helpful he went above and beyond my partner didn't want to leave and we would highly recommend this cottage and Destination Ripon.
